Description

Elevate weeknight meals with the bold, slow-simmered flavor of Simply Organic® Birria Seasoning Mix. This certified gluten-free blend features organic guajillo and chipotle peppers for smoky heat, balanced with pungent spices and herbs like cumin, coriander, oregano, and clove with a hint of lime that brightens every bite. Perfect for both pressure cooker and stovetop, this seasoning helps you create tender, richly seasoned beef with minimal prep.

Ingredients

How To Use

Directions

YOU WILL NEED
1 lb. beef chuck roast, raw, cut into 1 in. cubes
1 1/2 cups beef broth

Choose your cooking method:

PRESSURE COOKER:

1) Add Birria Seasoning, beef, and broth to pressure cooker.
2) Follow your cooker's instructions; cook on high for 35 minutes, or on "Meat/Stew" setting.
3) Once cooked, allow pressure to release naturally for 10 min., then quick release.
4) Remove meat and shred. Reserve 1/2 - 1 cup broth for consome, if desired. Return shredded meat to broth.

STOVE TOP:

1) Coat meat in Birria Seasoning and set aside.
2) In a 5-7 quart pot with lid or a Dutch oven, heat 1 Tbsp. oil over medium heat.
3) Add meat and cook for 2 minutes, until just starting to get a crust.
4) Add broth and bring to a boil.
5) Reduce heat to low for a gentle bubbling simmer, cover and cook for 3 hours.
6) Remove meat, shred, and add back to broth.

SLOW COOKER:

Add Birria Seasoning, meat, and broth to a crock pot. Cook on low setting for 6-8 hours until fork-tender. Shred and serve.
